Reiki is an energy healing method 'discovered' by Dr. Usui and passed down from teacher to student. In general, Reiki is a method of using universal energy - or energy that is all around us and in everything we know - in order to affect positive change in the mind, soul and body of the client. Reiki training and attunements are passed from Reiki Master to student. Students typically go through several levels of training before they are equipped to become a 'Master' and able to attune others.
Blue Fire Reiki (BFR) is certainly not your ordinary average Reiki 'frequency'. The BFR attunement has been described as a 'catalyst for change'.
The main differences between Blue Fire Reiki and Traditional Usui Reiki are :
- The feel of the energy - Although Blue Fire Reiki energy is Reiki energy just like any other form of Reiki, the energy of Blue Fire Reiki is Reiki with a more ecstatic twist. It is tinged with the blue fire energy that is the hot center of the flame. Blue fire is the creative force of the universe, the hot fire of alchemy.
- A common symbol intuited by the attuned - This symbol is usually intuited during one of the level I attunements and is taught in level II
- The philosophy of 'doing what works' is stressed - We learn the traditional methods of other lines and then learn how to use our intuition to put them together into something that works for that healer, for that client, for that healing.
- Motions, Blue Fire Breathing and Chanting are integrated into the practice - In Blue Fire Reiki II, we learn what is called the Blue Fire Flow. This is a way of putting together the symbols, a set of motions and a particular breathing style and chanting together intuitively to create an optimum healing.
- Non-touch method is taught - Blue Fire Reiki students are encouraged to learn the touch method a well as the non-touch method depending upon which works best for them.
- Ethical healing decision making is taught in Reiki II - this is not your typical 'thou shall not' talk about ethics. Students are given bare bones, logical reasoning and encouraged to develop a system of healing ethics of their own.
